"In more
than 30 years of teaching, I have rarely come across a collection
of individuals so dedicated to their work and so enthralled at
the possibility of what humans can collectively accomplish. I
support the efforts of this troupe and their dedication to the
promotion of excellence in working with children."
-Thomas Anderson, Ph.D. Tucson Unified Schools
Understanding that there are many different
ways to learn is central to all Living Folklore educational
programs. Having studied contemporary learning models including,
Multiple Intelligence Theory and Emotional Intelligence Theory,
Jacob and Elizabeth understand the needs of young audiences.
Self-empowerment along with a sense of place and meaning within
a greater community is shared through each program. Most importantly,
children come away from these programs with the sense that
learning can be a fun and creative journey. The links, below,
are to some of our popular programs.
"Storytelling Programs" are best suited for one visit
to a classroom, whereas "Clowns in The Courtroom" is
an interactive problem-solving workshop that is better suited
to residency programs. Both of these programs have been very
successful with students at all learning levels."Is
This Art?", and "Masking and Carnival" are programs great for
adult audiences, as well as school visits.
