In August of 2005, Cyril Neville brought a group of inner city youth
to Arizona for a cultural exchange program with native kids on local
reservations. During the trip, Cyril brought out a bead-patch that
was sewn by his uncle, Big Chief Jolly. It was an honor to see it and
have him let me film as he told stories. Less than a month later, the
patch was swept away and lost forever in hurricane Katrina. We are
lucky this moment was captured! At The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, Giggly Sprout and Gumbo
Wobbly unveiled their latest costumes called "Neptune Unleashed".
The ... all » costumes are a tribute to the importance of water,
dreams, the unconscious flowing into the conscious, death and re-birth,
and are dedicated to New Orleans. It was fitting for them to join The
Voice of The Wetlands along with Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Big Chief
Monk Boudreaux, and other fine musicians from the southest on stage.
