Desert Moon
This painting captures the moment when
a strong gust of wind blew dust up and hit a mosquito in flight,
thus catapulting him into the trumpet players' left eye. This
caused his eye to water, which made him hit a bad note. He
tried to catch the sour note before it escaped his trumpet
with an old plunger, but he was unsuccessful. When the sound
hit the air, the piano sagged with the piano player and the
moon became veiled with clouds. They say that this is where
the tradition of muting a trumpet with a plunger comes from,
but I don't believe it for a second...
